We believe in the positive impact intentional design has on ones well being, creativity and productivity.
We believe it is essential to practice sustainable design solutions for you home, outdoor spaces, work environment, and the products you wear and use.
We believe that your spaces, big or small, shouldn't be just aesthetically pleasing, but should be a reflection of you, and what you value.
We work hard to make sure the product we offer are sustainable, well designed, and ethically sourced.
We support other creator and makers whenever we need to source items that we do not make ourselves.
We want you to love where you live, work and play, and to cherish what you purchase.
We offer a wide range of Design services for interiors and landscapes: Interiors can include but are not limited to color consults, review of and adjustments of floor plans, long term design planning solutions, material & furniture selections, to custom sewing and creation of items such as drapes , pillows and blankets. Landscape work can include, but is not limited to plant selection, layouts and pruning, as well as the restoration of existing landscapes.
Yes, I accept custom orders, if I have the yarn is in stock and you have idea of what style you would like, I can make it for you if I have enough yarn. If you have more time there might be even more options like custom spinning and project creation.
My garments need to be hand washed in cool water with a very mild soap (like a baby or lingerie soap) and dried flat. Each order will contain a full set of washing and care instructions. See Full instructions HERE.
Yes, all of the items I offer, I make myself. If I do not harvest or make an item, it will clearly state who made it, how it is sourced and raised. For example, the wood tags on my hats are made by neighbor, another female owned, local small business.
Hats are measured around the bottom edge and from the top or "crown" of the head to the bottom edge. So you will need to measure around your head right above your eyes for the widest part of your head, and from the top of your head down.
Hand spun means that I sit down at my manual spinning wheel, yes what you picture from a nursery rhyme and I use my feet for the power and my hands guide the fiber that is spun into the yarn. You can see a video and picture of my wheel HERE.
My garments are made to last you many years. I am still wearing one of the very first hats that I made for myself 15 years ago. SO, with proper care you might even be able to pass you treasured item on to a future generation, which is my hope. Items made with my handspun yarn include extra yarn in case you ever need to make a mend.
The answer is most likely no, but sometimes it can be yes. If I have the same fiber I can spin can spin more. However due to the nature of hand spun yarns, it may not be exactly the same. Which is the beauty of hand made. Just like seasonal fashions, colors come and go, it is very unlikely that I will be able to create a color match if I am out of that fiber.
Wool (Alpaca & Angora) are natural products, not plastic like Nylon & Polyester, yes when you wear Nylon & Polyester, you are wearing oil, which is a non-renewable product. Wool is a sustainable farming solution, as sheep eat only grass and are gentle on the landscape when rotational grazing is practiced, which is what I do. Wool is highly insulating, sheds water beautifully, and wears like iron. Because it is a natural fiber it breathes, so it regulates your body temperature when it is cold and hot, and it also does not hold odors like synthetic fibers, yes Nylon & Polyester again.
If you have any further questions or want more details on an item, or just are curious about what I do, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
